Season Recap

Season 5 was a strange season, we saw the Powerhouse, Whalers, Pirates, and Stampede enter the league. The strange thing about it was that all these expansion teams came out slugging. Teams like the Powerhouse and Whalers flexed there offensive muscles from the get go but started losing and struggled to recover towards the end. These Expansion teams tho had very weak defenses and it showed down the stretch. This season was still a experimental season for most teams but teams like the Sharks and Armageddon we're good on both sides of the ball and pretty much stepped away from the experimental phase. From the beginning the Sharks we're favored to take it all despite last year's upset to the Johnstown Flood in the play-offs last year.

Sports talk radio stations we're now starting to talk about the NAFL once again and others joined in as well as the season progressed. The Arena Football League was looking for ways to sue the NAFL but they failed.

The play offs

This year was a great year and ESPN signed a contract that would allow them to show this years play offs and the Championship game as well. The ratings we're excellent and ESPN inked a deal to show almost all the games for next 3 years. NBC who has been very desperate for football these past few years is also planning on signing a contract with the league.

The scores we're higher for the play-offs unlike last season but not as high as Arena Football, mainly due to the size of the field and the fact that teams have some form of defense in this league. The only nail biting game in the play offs was the Powerhouse vs. Armageddon game. The Powerhouse took the lead with just a little over a minute to go and the Armageddon missed a last second Field goal that would've won it for them.

A few screenshots from the Post Season

In this play Pennsylvannia came back to take the lead.

The Armageddon marched down the field and got close enough to attempt a Field Goal

But failed and thus we're eliminated from the play-offs

Alpha-Omega Bowl 6

The Sharks won it all by defeating the Powerhouse in convincing fashion (See score above) and put last years misery behind them.

Upcoming Season 6

The league will be restructured and we'll see 2 different conferences. No word on the exact structure yet. Braves, Copperheads, Atlantic City, and The Patriots will be returning to the league. NBC signed up to broadcast 16 games on Thursday night.
